Introducing Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal Pty Ltd (WICET), a visionary project that unites experienced users and operators in the bulk commodity ports industry.

​

Located in the Port of Gladstone, WICET provides 27 million tonnes per annum of new export capacity, with the potential for expansion to an incredible 120 million tonnes per annum. This industry-owned and privately funded model sets a new standard, allowing for essential coal transport infrastructure development without government funding. WICET aligns with the Queensland Ports Strategy, creates local employment opportunities, and supports community initiatives.

Proudly partnered with WICET for six years, ATQLD currently hosts two electrical apprentices, contributing to the production of qualified tradespeople. Together, we're shaping a brighter future!

Introducing NRG Industrial Pty Ltd (NRG) as a host company to Apprentices and Trainees Queensland.

 

Founded in 2009 by Grantley Jack, NRG is a privately owned contracting company specialising in Electrical and Carpentry operating from Central Queensland on the Capricorn Coast.

​

They hold licenses to operate in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and the Northern Territory. NRG offers a comprehensive range of services, including construction, mining, maintenance, management, engineering, and renewables. With a highly skilled workforce and state-of-the-art equipment, NRG ensures the delivery of safe, cost-effective, and high-quality service.

We are filled with anticipation for the exciting prospects that lie ahead and the strong partnership that will come from this collaboration.

Introducing Dawson Mine, an iconic open-cut metallurgical coal mine in Central Queensland!

 

Operating since 1961, it's one of the region's oldest and most influential coal mining operations. Dawson Mine made history as Australia's first coal exporter to Japan in 1961 and pioneered the use of draglines in 1963. Anglo American, in alliance with Mitsui, acquired the mine in 2002 and continues to lead with innovation.

 

Anglo American currently hosts 25 apprentices through Apprentices & Trainees Queensland, shaping the future of skilled tradespeople. It's an honour to work alongside Anglo American in producing these hardworking individuals!

Batchfire Callide Mine is a privately owned transitional energy business operating since 1944 producing energy coal located in the Callide Basin on some 20km from Biloela, Queensland. Producing ultra-low impurity, negligible fugitive emission coal, Batchfire’s technology-driven approach delivers 10 to 11 million tonnes of coal annually for domestic power generation, alumina refining, and export to Asia!

​

Our ATQLD team works closely with Batchfire to deliver them the best apprentices and trainees for their requirements. Batchfire hosts a diverse number of trades such as diesel fitter, auto electrical, and electricians, as well as warehouse trainees. In saying that, ATQLD currently has 18 apprentices and trainees working for Batchfire at Callide Mine at present.

This company is a big supporter of apprenticeship programs, consistently giving opportunity to additional applicants & enabling their crew to nurture ‘home-grown’ talent. It is a pleasure to work with the Mackay team in supporting our apprentices throughout their trades and we hope to continue to grow our partnership well into the future.

 Barnes Electrical Service: Empowering Queensland for 25+ years!

As the go-to electrical service provider in Gladstone and Central Queensland, Barnes Electrical has been illuminating lives since day one. With a diverse range of services, including emergency breakdowns, new installations, UPS backup systems, generator maintenance, and more, they cater to both commercial and industrial sectors. 

​

ATQLD currently has three apprentices learning the ropes at Barnes Electrical and is investing in the next generation of electrical talent. We have had three previous apprentices. The synergy between Barnes Electrical and ATQLD promises an exciting future!

KNL Engineering

KNL Engineering, a leading provider of solutions and technical services for various rotating and process equipment, serves industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing, mineral and ore processing, and general manufacturing.
